Unfortunately this year has begun with the tiring tune of yet another COVID-19 surge. Over the last few weeks, many in our community have tested positive, including my family.
If you attended worship on Sunday, or participated online, you heard Pastor Daryl mention I tested negative and was out with the flu. I did receive negative results from a PCR test on December 28, but had a low grade fever over the weekend. I tested positive this week. Fortunately, those in our household who are infected are only experiencing minor symptoms or are showing no symptoms whatsoever. We’re not certain where we picked it up, or who was first to get it.
I share our story as a reminder to be diligent. At this point we are not canceling in-person activity at WPC, but we need to remember to exercise caution. When you’re on campus and around others, wear a mask. Meet outside when possible. Listen to your doctors when it comes to treatments and vaccines. And please, if you don’t feel well or are uncomfortable with the thought of being out and about, stay home.
Rob Douglas will be preaching this weekend, and it’s a sermon you won’t want to miss! Our family will be joining in worship from home, and we look forward to being with you safely in person when our quarantine is finished.
Grateful to be journeying with you,
