We Are Committed to Churches

We are committed to churches—celebrating new beginnings and honoring lasting faithfulness! This month we rejoiced in the birth of a new congregation, Iglesia Presbiteriana Las Américas Santa Clarita ( see video), and in the centennial of Grandview Presbyterian Church, a living testimony to a century of ministry and grace.

We are committed to churches that seek to grow and discern God’s call. Another congregation has completed its Cyclical Full Circle Assessment—the third in our Presbytery to do so! (Contact Rob Douglas at [email protected] if your congregation would like to explore this valuable process.)

We are committed to churches by providing loans and grants that strengthen their mission and sustain their ministries. (Reach out to Alex Balian at [email protected] , Chair of Property & Finance, for more information.) Because we are committed to our churches, the budget that the Lead Team has endorsed and is being submitted for final approval includes a decrease of close to 30% in the Per Capita Apportionment.

We are committed to churches by offering the best possible support and service. This month, we express deep gratitude for the dedicated service of Dave Wilkinson (Stated Clerk) and Casey Maddren (Executive Assistant), both retiring at the end of the year, and we warmly welcome Riad Essio ( Business Manager) and Val Boss ( Administrative Assistant) as new members of our Presbytery staff.

Our Presbytery is committed to churches—new and old, large and small, near and far—trusting that the Spirit continues to reform, renew and redirect us in every season of ministry according to the Word and for the glory of God.

In “Christ Alone”,

Juan Sarmiento

The International Relations Task Force of the Presbytery of San Fernando hopes to build as full a picture as possible of the ways our presbytery is currently engaged in international ministry and of the resources and connections we have which might allow for new or expanded engagement.
