Weekend - May 16 - 17, 2026

Email from Westminster Presbyterian Church
Ascension Sunday

Inviting all people to follow Jesus on a journey of faith, friendship, and service.

Last Sunday, Pastor Faith showed us how the remnant is brave. That when God calls you out of darkness, and you put your trust in Him, He will part the waters and provide a way when you can't see one yourself. It's important to trust Him in the good times, but especially in times of trouble. That is when you are at your weakest. Doubt, anxiety, fear, anger and a host of other feelings can take hold, and your walk with God becomes frayed. Remember, we are to walk with God while the world is running, so hold onto the remnant of bravery.

This Sunday, at 10am, Pastor Faith will continue the series and take us to Nehemiah 2. Have you ever heard the term, "If you want to make God laugh, make plans"? We have to use our remnant of bravery to understand that we may want things to stay exactly the same, but that may not be the place God wants us to be. Sometimes when things do not work according to plan, we have to trust in the Lord and not lean to our own understanding. For in due season, we shall reap the reward if we stay faithful.

If you can't be here in person, you can stream the service here or  here.

May 17, 2026 - 10:00

Ascension Sunday

This Sunday we celebrate Jesus's return to Heaven to sit on the right hand of God. Before He leaves the earth, He blesses His disciples and tells them to go out and make disciples -- more followers of Him. We are blessed by the disciples' obedience to carry out God's Word and, in turn, it is our duty to continue to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ.
